Another newbie question. From "xcdroast", I can see the Smart Media R/W Removable Disk entry. Wondering how I can take a look at the actual image files in the Smart Media drive. Help![/b]

Wait... Which is the case?
  1. You've gotten your SmartMedia drive working already, and you're wondering how to use it with xcdroast.
  2. You don't have your SmartMedia drive working at all.

The smart media device is recognized by the system. I just want to see the content of what is in the media (card). e.g. in order to look at the content of a CD, you mount the cdrom to /mnt/cdrom or whatever and cd into that dir. Same thing. What is the device name of the smart media in order to mount? Couldn't find the smart media from the file manager. TIA for your response.

Well, if it's working, the smart media drive will use the USB Mass Storage driver, which uses SCSI emulation; so the drive should show up as sda, sdb, etc.; and you'll probably want to mount something like sda1, sdb2, etc.

Recompiled the kernel with fat/vfat support and was able to mount the smartmedia device. Carlos, thanks for your help.
