I have a laptop and a server, on the same network, and I'd like to be able to play my sound through the soundcard on the server. Is there a program that does this. I was thinking of sharing the "/dev/dsp" on the server and "cat /dev/dsp [remote server]/dev/dsp" but that's probably not how your supposed to do it.. Any suggestions would be helpful. _________________ Mayhem G4 (Asus z71v) |

NAS can "share" the server's sound device with clients on the network. It is in portage and applications, like, e.g. xmms, mplayer support this kind of service via extra plugins or useflag. _________________ Hello 911? How are you? |

AFAIR esound/esd also works over network. I don't know how you do it in detail cause I never used it, but it is possible.
