Hi,
I'm alaways trying to install my Microsoft wireless intellimouse optical USB ONLY.
I've got a MSI KT4V mother board with 6 USB2.0.So, I compiled the kernel with the EHCI module.
After that,
insmod hid >> OK
insmod mousedev >> OK
insmod usbcore >> OK
insmod hcd >> OK (it's the name of ehci module)
insmod input >> FAILED!!!
I've got an error. It say that the device or ressource is busy...
And when I look at dmesg output, I see that:
<3>Input : unable to register char-major 13
So, there is an error with input so I can't use my mouse with X and I don't like the full console so much...
PLEASE HELP ME!!!

Hello
I tried the same thing on a different mouse and thought - hey I want have my mouse on X window ?
Well, I just went to the /dev/input directory and checked if there is a "mice" entry.
Once I checked it is there, I just wrote "cat mice" and then moved my mouse.
The screen showed a garbaged character each time I moved the mouse.
I guess it means - The input is compiled into the kernel, but I'm not sure.
Try it your self.
O, and another thing.
After installing xfree (only xfree) the mouse worked just fine.
Try it |
