Hello,
Before I installed gentoo on my laptop, I used to be able to just shut the lid of my laptop, and then open it later and X would still be running without problems. Now when I shut the lid and reopen it with X running, my screen is filled with banding type effects and I can't use my keyboard or mouse to possible fix the problem.
Any ideas on what's the matter or how to fix it. Resume works fine from a console, and my pcmcia card works fine on resume as well.
My kernel doesn't have apci in it, so perhaps that is the problem, but other than that, everything else should be similar to my old install. |

Fixed it.
Apparently some of the kernel APM stuff doesn't play nice with my laptop (Inspiron 8000). I now only have enabled apm allows interupts and kernel pm. So if anyone else sees the problem, that's a place to start. |
