I have set up a chroot to run 32bit applications that can't be compiled on amd64 natively. It works perfectly, but in order to run X programs I have to run "xhost local:localhost" on every reboot. Is there a way to run it automatically everytime I start an X session? I tried to add the command to /etc/init.d/gentoo32, but it gives me a "no screen found" error.
Any suggestions?
Thanks. |

Adding the xhost command to the 'Xsession' files should work in most cases when using a session manager. |

I added it to /etc/X11/Sessions/Xsession and /etc/X11/xdm/Xsession, but unfortunately it didn't work. Any other suggestion?
Thanks. |

It's only going to work for X sessions the way you did, if you add it to /etc/X11/gdm/Xsession, and /usr/kde/<version>/share/config/kdm/Xsession, it'll work for KDM en GDM too. This isn't going to work if you're not using a session manager. |

What about adding it to
/etc/conf.d/local.start |

That's not going to work. You need to set the DISPLAY value for it to run. E.g. if you start X with a display manager, and it crashes, then you would need rerun it again. |
