|
|
I just installed gentoo linux for the third time (after two unsuccessful attempts ) and it isnt booting for some reason. I dont have any idea why or how to fix it.
It stops at one of these lines each time:
Either
Freeing unused kernel memory (xxxk) - Freed
or
INIT: Version 2.84 booting
I woud appreciate any help. |

i cant tell u why, but...
u can boot using the install cd and try to build a new kernel - perhaps thats the problem... u can even copy the kernel (and modules) to your harddisk and boot from them... _________________ To an engineer the glass is neither half full, nor half empty - it is just twice as big as it needs to be. |

maybe it'd work if you tried changing a bit your BIOS settings. i'd similar problems and after modifying BIOS a bit it started to work |
