When I do the following command the version that is listed is 1.4.9 whereas the latest version (on the ogre website) is 1.6.4 :
Code: | tux tb # emerge -p ogre
These are the packages that would be merged, in order:
Calculating dependencies... done!
[ebuild N ] dev-libs/zziplib-0.13.49-r1 USE="-sdl -test"
[ebuild N ] dev-games/ogre-1.4.9 USE="-cegui -cg -devil -doc -double-precision -examples -gtk -openexr -threads"

ogre is under testing, you have to add an exception for it _________________ Veni, Vidi, Vici

Version 1.6.4 of ogre is in the portage tree under the testing branch.
This means you have to unmask it by adding dev-games/ogre to /etc/portage/package.keywords.
Example:
Code: | # echo "dev-games/ogre" >> /etc/portage/package.keywords |
