tools to send mail

Can a tool verify another program and send a email if something happenned ?

I've install openWRT on several wrt54g linksys.
I also have a kismet on each to chek for wireless....
Now, I would like, if it detect a knew wireless to have an alert by mail...
Kismet can't do it.... So, I tought that maybe a tool can chek if kismet change and send me an email....

Can someone help me ??
