Hello.
I have a hp DVD+RW, a 200i. I had it working just fine when I was running red-hat, but now that I have switched to gentoo, it is giving me a lot of trouble.
The device scd0 never shows up in /dev. I have tried making entries in /etc/modules.d/cdr (options ide-cd ignore='hdd') and I have tried putting hdd=ide-scsi in my grub.conf (plus a combination of both). I have the sr_mod, sg and ide-scsi modules all loaded (I'm not entirely certain if I really need the sg, but just to be safe I included it).
I have edited my devfsd.conf and added (changed) this entry:
LOOKUP ^scd0$ CFUNCTION GLOBAL mksymlink sr0 scd0
#REGISTER ^sr0$ CFUNCTION GLOBAL mksymlink $devname scd0
#UNREGISTER ^sr0$ CFUNCTION GLOBAL unlink scd0
Anyone have any ideas here? I would really appreciate the help.
