Ok I'll bite. Where are the extra printer drivers? Currently Cups is only listing el cheapo Z series. I have a lexmark optra e310. I had this printer running on a previous install. What have I missed?

It seems like I heard that lexmark offered drivers for most of the optra printers. Did you check the foomatic website?

I've read that but, I'm curious as to why my lexmark was working before without any third party software.

My lexmark optra k1220 works just fine without external drivers.
Probably because I'm using the networked version?

If you have a printer that is fully postscript compatabile then do you need a driver? Also some of the lexmark printers i know have their own print server built into the printer (lpr i think). So maybe that is how it worked without a driver.
