lo
I upgraded from kernel 2.4.19 to 2.4.20 (r2), and without any other changes lost scsi emulation for my burner & cd drive. I eventually discovered that I had to remove ide cdrom support from the kernel to get it working, this despite the fact that I had
| Code: | | hdc=ide-scsi hdd=ide-scsi |
in my grub.conf file.
If anyone else is having ide-scsi probs, try removing ide cdrom support, see what that does. _________________ --James (Dugite) |

I had actually the same problem with the gentoo-sources. I too had to deactivate ide-cdrom completely.
This problem does not happen with the vanilla-sources. |
