I installed TeamSpeak2 and it seems to be working just fine except that under Linux, I'm only getting audio out of the right ear. (Under Windows it works in both ears.)

I have a Logitech "Stereo USB Headset 200". It uses the "audio" module.

I've looked all over the TeamSpeak menus for a mono/stereo option or some option that is specifically muting the left ear, but I'm not finding anything.

I've also loaded up AlsaMixer to see if the left ear was muted or if the device was in mono, but I don't see anything there either.

It looks like TeamSpeak only supports OSS, but I do have OSS emulation in my kernel.

My main speakers play in stereo still. It's just the headset that is mono (or left ear muted) and only in TeamSpeak. If I play Quake 3 - which also uses /dev/dsp - I get stereo sound in my headset. Or if I change the sound output driver for XMMS to OSS instead of ALSA, I get stereo sound in my headset.

So what is it about TeamSpeak that is making in mono?

Not sure what the problem is. Anyone have any ideas?

I have the same problem but I get the sound on the left ear (mic side).

To me it looks like a ALSA OSS emulation layer problem as it happen allways if I want to play sound and record over the /dev/dsp1.

Code:
cat /proc/asound/oss/*
  0: [0- 0]: mixer
  1:       : sequencer
  3: [0- 0]: digital audio
  4: [0- 0]: digital audio
  8:       : sequencer
 12: [0- 1]: digital audio
 16: [1- 0]: mixer
 19: [1- 0]: digital audio
 20: [1- 0]: digital audio
Sound Driver:3.8.1a-980706 (ALSA v1.0.11rc2 emulation code)
Kernel: Linux a7n8x 2.6.16-gentoo-r3-slalomsk8er #2 PREEMPT Mon Apr 24 16:44:09 CEST 2006 i686
Config options: 0

Installed drivers:
Type 10: ALSA emulation

Card config:
NVidia nForce2 with ALC650F at 0xef085000, irq 19
Logitech Logitech USB Headset at usb-0000:00:02.0-3, full speed

Audio devices:
0: NVidia nForce2 (DUPLEX)
1: USB Audio (DUPLEX)

Synth devices: NOT ENABLED IN CONFIG

Midi devices: NOT ENABLED IN CONFIG

Timers:
7: system timer

Mixers:
0: Realtek ALC650F
1: USB Mixer

The big point is that it is stereo or mic + mono in OSS but in ALSA it is stereo and mic + stereo so it cantt be the hardware and it can't be ALSA so has to be a problen in the OSS emulation layer but I found no solution till now
