qt-4.1 looking for libGL in wrong place [SOLVED]

emerge qt-4.1.0-r2 fails and is looking for libGL.so in /usr/lib/ but it's located in /usr/lib64/opengl/xorg-x11/lib

Can I link to it?

opengl-update xorg-x11 solved the issue and allowed complilation
I had to install the ati-drivers and "opengl-update ati" to get direct rendering back.
I use the PCIE ati driver from ati's site and negligently had unmerged ati-drivers at some point.
