|
|
I am getting ready to move and I was considering selling my second computer which I never use. It is a frankenstein box:
P3-550
30GB
128 unless my roommate has anything lying around
TNT2
Ethernet
8x4x32x CD burner
Sound and what ever else.
I was thinking I could get $150, but it is such a hard thing to tell.
I was going to install Gentoo on it and build a lot of packages and not install them. Should I do that or just build a base install and X and let the buyer install KDE or Gnome?
I am at a large college and Gentoo is getting a lot of recognition, so I figured Gentoo might be a selling point.
I am also considering selling my 21" Mitsubishi and I was thinking $200. _________________ What Larry was saying is that if you make it too easy for programmers, then poor programmers will be able to do things best left to good programmers, and will inevitably do them poorly. if you demo it fyully configured, and put a game on it that runs fluently, and put something like xscreensaver on it to make it look awesome, it would go for prob even more.
screen betternot with a tnt2 system. |

Setting it up as a server to sell? I hadn't thought of that, but I don't have a lot of server experience so I don't know whther that is best. _________________ What Larry was saying is that if you make it too easy for programmers, then poor programmers will be able to do things best left to good programmers, and will inevitably do them poorly.
