After my last update, I discovered that most of the Gtk+ using applications were behaving strangely. They shutted down as soon as the app were launched with a stack-protection violation.
Then, I googlized the error message and saw that it was a known bug. they suggested on the web site to try to recompile with either -stack-protector or -png... none of them worked in my case.
I tried to recompile with gcc 3.3.4 instead of 3.4.4 ... Since I already had a lot of trouble with the 3.4 compiler serie. And it works fine again !!!
Am I the only one who gets trouble with the 3.4.x compiler ? |

The problem might be that some apps is compiled with gcc 3.4 and some is compiled with gcc 3.3. Everything should be built with the same compiler or you'll get weird problems. |

I've never been able to compile xorg with gcc 3.4 so far. It always ends with the elf reallocation bug ...
So maybe I should just use the old gcc only ? |
