Hi,
Take a look here:
http://icculus.org/openbox/shots/full/shit1k.jpg
At the top of this screen there seem to be a menu that displays running apps? What is that? Any ideas?
And at the bottom...theres a fancy launcher...what is that?
Thx,
Supermule |

I am confused...(although Ive head about this)...
Isnt Gnome a window-manager?
Is this "running" Gnome with the speed of Openbox? Or how does this work?
IF the above is right , How can I run KDE with the speed of Fluxbox for example?
regards,

No Gnome is a desktop, and Gnome has a Window Manager, (At the moment the default one is metacity) If you want you can switch from Metacity to Flushbox.
Gnome and KDE are basically a collection of apps for your desktop (Ie: The Panels, The Window Manager, The Desktop Drawing tool, etc etc)
A window manager is just something that gives a program its title bar and buttons on the title bar.
A lot of people run WM alone, like blackbox, fluxbox, etc... I don't like doing that though. _________________ PowerBook G3, 400 Mhz, 192 megs of Ram Running Gentoo 1.4 and XFCE4 |
