Hi, I've found that thunderbird stopped working after my last update. In that update cairo was merged ( new package, I think I hadn't it installed before, but i'm not sure), and there was a message on the console warning about a stack smashing attack in a function with a name with the word cairo, so I merged it (x11-libs/cairo) with vanilla gcc and now it works.
