Wine without X server - the question (repeated subject because of forum's search)
Well, i've set up PvPGN server on my 1,1GHz Celeron with 256 MB RAM which is primarly used as a router
between my LAN and the Internet. Now I'd like to run D2GS, software which is only in win32 version, has no
sources available and its author is like a ghost. Original howto on PvPGN forums says:
Install XFree86-libs-4.2.0-8 and XFree86-Xvfb-4.2.0-8, which is, I guess, a virtual frame buffer server.
The QUESTION is: is this possible with packages from portage or do I have to download those rpms and
screw up my router?
I've compiled wine already, now I'm asking: How to create virtual frame buffer???
(I've seen experimental VFB in kernel, is it worth trying? How?)
Thank You. _________________ ScRaTcHi

* x11-base/xdirectfb
Available versions: !1.0_rc5-r1 !1.0_rc5-r2
Installed: none
Homepage: http://www.directfb.org
Description: XDirectFB is a rootless XServer on top of DirectFB
Perhaps this? |

I don't need any FB or X running since my application don't use any GUI,
it's simple console application and works by running 'wine appname.exe' on
any tty. Though I've already installed xorg-x11 on that system I can't tell
you if it needs X libraries to start with wine.
Thanx for help. _________________ ScRaTcHi
