Credo possa essere un problema legato alla scheda video ed ai relativi driver.
Che tipo di scheda video hai e che driver usi?

no è un bug conosiuto.
cancella /usr/share/themes/Crux
e tutto torna a funzionare.
Se il problema persiste lancia gnome-theme-manager da console e vedi quali altri temi gli dqanno fastidio.
L'errore GTK che vedrai (hcengine) trascuralo pure. E' per futuri sviluppi mi hanno detto.

PS
E' un problema causato dalla variazione del metodo di istallazioone dei temi.
Il bug si dovrebbe presentare solo con Crux.
Crux è reistallabile scaricandolo da gnome-look

Mi scuso non conosco bene gnome 
Mi era sembrato un problema di rendering legato alla scheda video.
