For power saving I want to automatically shut down my PM 8200 at night and start it again in the morning.
The shut down would be no problem with a cron job, but is it also possible to power it on again? |

Only if you can hack your way into the BIOS to set an auto-boot time there. _________________ >>> emerge (3 of 7) mcse/70-293 to /

There is no BIOS on Macs.
You might be able to use Wake-On-Lan and schedule it from another machine. As a terrible hack, that machine has the ability to power on after power failure, so you could get one of those timers that turn on and off the power. :) _________________ Gentoo PPC FAQ: http://www.gentoo.org/doc/en/gentoo-ppc-faq.xml |

In powerpc-utils-1.1.3-r18 should be a little program called bootshed that would exactly do what I need, but the dosbin line in the ebuild misses bootshed (as well as autoboot). Bug or intended? |
