If I try to run the Quake 4 demo fullscreen on my twin monitors, it puts the window right in the middle - split equally between the two.
Doom3, however, goes full screen on one window, leaving the other blank - any way to get Quake 4 to do this?
Simon
edit: I use Twinview with a Geforce 6600GT

With nvidia TwinView, you'll see this behaviour. There are two workarounds that I know of.
1. Setup a metamode like "1280x1024, NULL", when a game tries to use 1280x1024 the other monitor should turn off, leaving the game running fullscreen on the other.
2. Use a windowmanager that's capable of making windows borderless, and maximised to only one screen. Then, you run the game in windowed mode and maximise it and get rid of the borders. This is the option I personally use, and comes with the added bonus that I can still see my desktop on the other screen.
Also, you could also try using "real" Xinerama. With nvidia's drivers, I see almost the same behaviour as I do with option 2.. But you don't need to do anything special to make it work.
*edit* If you aren't using nvidia's drivers.. I have no idea |

This is what I would like to do, but when I play Neverwinter Nights I can't get the game to grab the mouse. It will let me move the pointer outside of the game window. It also disables the camera moves. Usually you pan the camera by moving the mouse to the edge of the screen. I found a patch for SDL that is supposed to assign a key combo to grab or release the mouse, but it didn't work. I did find a different key combo that did grab the mouse, but the camera panning still didn't work. Any ideas?
