Hi,
I'm running a sparc e250 and every now and then my system fails between 5 and 8 minutes after the following cronjob:
| Code: | | emerge --sync --quiet | mailx -s "peach: sync" xxxx@xxx.xxx && emerge -Dupv world | mailx -s "peach: emerge" xxxx@xxx.xxx |
As i have 2 e250 running both different kernels and in a different configuration both have this problem every now and then.
Both have their system disks mirrored using software raid, my sparcstation 20 never crashes while it does the same.
As i know this problem is the ultimate vague problem how can i further debug, what information do you need ?
By the way i posted this in sparc as this is sparc related, especially machine related.

By the way, in a few weeks i have my third sparc e250.. which is gonnabe a gentoo machine as well

Yeah, 2.6 kernels have that effect but people don't believe us it seems.
Try 2.6.14.3 (vanilla-sources, and yeah i know it's not even ~sparc) - it'll probably work (or at least better).
