Since you can easily use Portage/emerge to keep your system completely up to date painlessly, what is the difference between one Gentoo release and another?
I have 1.4rc2 on most of my machines. What does RC3 give me? Is it just that the stage tarballs are more up to date? Or the Live CD?
Also, what would need to be done to upgrade to RC3, if it's even necessary, without starting from scratch?
Thanks. |

The new releases are mostly to do with the Live-CD (install CD) if you have a working Gentoo install and do a regular Code: | emerge rsync && emerge -u system; emerge -u world | then your all up to date |

Great, thanks Jimbob.
Gentoo is really nice for keeping a system up to date! |
