Ok getting closer to the solution. I now get the cinergy bvd-t box to work, but there is one draw back my mouse goes haywire. And if I want mouse to work the dvb-t box won't.
I get the cinergy to work if I don't have OCHI HCD support compiled in to my kernel, but mouse won't and visa-versa.
Can anyone point me to right direction for the solution? |

Hum... first of all: is the mouse an USB mouse as I suppose?
when the dvb-t board is working, is the mouse still correctly detected?
(if is usb, you can check with a
| Code: |
cat /proc/bus/usb/devices
|
)
However, my first guess is that , if your mouse is USB, just the device number
(X of /dev/input/eventX) has changed. This is cause the mouse isn't perfectly "hooked"
so the access to the mouse is done directly to /dev/input/eventX in Xorg-x11.
If this is the case just changing your etc/X11/xorg.conf can provide a temporary solution,
while hooking the mouse whit a symlink (as I think you are doin for the remote with the
remcon symlink, if you followed my tutorial) would be a definitive solution.
(first try workaround: open xorg.conf, search for /dev/input/eventX where X is a number,
and increase X by 1) _________________ Every day a new distro comes to birth. Every day a distro "eats" another.

I have a usb mouse and touchpad. Seems like when the cinergy card is working USB mouse isn't realy supported couse it needs the OCHI drivers and meaby thats why it acts funny.
The listing cat /proc/bus/usb/devices was quite interesting one, here is first the cinergy part when it is working.
| Code: | T: Bus=01 Lev=01 Prnt=01 Port=01 Cnt=01 Dev#= 2 Spd=480 MxCh= 0
D: Ver= 2.00 Cls=ff(vend.) Sub=ff Prot=ff MxPS=64 #Cfgs= 1
P: Vendor=0ccd ProdID=0038 Rev= 1.06
S: Manufacturer=TerraTec GmbH
S: Product=Cinergy T<B2>
C:* #Ifs= 1 Cfg#= 1 Atr=80 MxPwr=476mA
I: If#= 0 Alt= 0 #EPs= 3 Cls=ff(vend.) Sub=ff Prot=00 Driver=cinergyT2
E: Ad=01(O) Atr=02(Bulk) MxPS= 64 Ivl=0ms
E: Ad=81(I) Atr=02(Bulk) MxPS= 64 Ivl=0ms
E: Ad=82(I) Atr=02(Bulk) MxPS= 512 Ivl=0ms
|
And here is the part of the output when it's not.
| Code: | T: Bus=03 Lev=01 Prnt=01 Port=00 Cnt=01 Dev#= 2 Spd=12 MxCh= 0
D: Ver= 2.00 Cls=ff(vend.) Sub=ff Prot=ff MxPS=64 #Cfgs= 1

S: Manufacturer=TerraTec GmbH
S: Product=Cinergy T<B2>
C:* #Ifs= 1 Cfg#= 1 Atr=e0 MxPwr=100mA
I: If#= 0 Alt= 0 #EPs= 2 Cls=ff(vend.) Sub=ff Prot=ff Driver=cinergyT2

I think the last one looks realy odd for some reason but I don't know well enought to know what I should do.

Hum, if you checked that your xorg.donf isn't using /dev/input/eventX as device for mouse,
I'm no use here,I have an usb graphic tablet (wacom volito) working fine with cinergy T2 so
I'm not sure about ohci driver issue..... try to compile related modules directly inside your kernel
if they're actually modules, and as modules if they're inside kernel........ I haven't any other idea, sorry. _________________ Every day a new distro comes to birth. Every day a distro "eats" another.

no worry thank you for your help.
I have /dev/input/mice as my event handler in the xorg.conf, but I'll try changing it to event and see what happends. I've tryed to compile OCHI as module but no luck (mouse is realy realy slow the) and cinergy card isn't working. I have it now compiled in to the kernel couse then everything is working just fine (exept the cinergy card ) |

Ok I've now accepted that I can't use mouse with the cinergy card for the moment.
If only that would be the end of problems. I'm now getting the broadcast but it's playing with double the speed it should.
Anyone know why? |

Are you using kaffeine? Is the only secure working dvb app I know, for the moment. _________________ Every day a new distro comes to birth. Every day a distro "eats" another.

There seems to ba a lot wrong. Kaffeine finds the channels just right but when trying to play any channel, it kills my X. No errors in Xorg logs |

hum.... you can try to open konsole, then launch
kaffeine >> logkaffeine.txt
to have a logfile of kaffeine...... _________________ Every day a new distro comes to birth. Every day a distro "eats" another.

phew finaly some progress I now can get my mouse to work with the cinergy card!
Legacy USB support to disable from bios, ochi out of kernel and many of the errors disapeared (why in the world there is something like that in the bios!?).
The kaffeine crashing Xwindows was due the ATI drivers (had 2 screens configured in xorg.conf but the s-video cable was disconnected -> X crashes when ever trying to use xine or kaffeine and most likely some other progs too).
Playback in xine 2 times as fast as it should (keeps buffering every other second, when it runs out buffer).
playback in kaffeine is jerky but on time. Dropping of the frames is so bad that you can't realy make out what's happening on the screen and sound isjust a big mess.
Anyway this is definetly steps forward thank you for you help.
[Edit]
I wonder if the invalid speed has anything to do with the fact that the system clock is running twice as fast it should if I don't have no_acpi_timer in kernel boot parameters...
[Edit]
Ok have to take back some of the original joy. The usb mouse is not working, but the touchpad is and that's good enought for me at least for the moment. I guess I don't have USB1 support. |

Finaly solved!
The USB mouse isn't working but touchpad is so I can live with it.
Summa summarum:
- Too fast playback was coused by the system clock running with double speed in AMD64 prosessor, no_timer_check passed in grub was all that was needed to fix this (I had a typo in the test kernel parameters, that's why it didn't work in the first place)
- OCHI support had to be taken out to get prober USB2 support (drawback is that most likely usb1 devises are not working, atleast my usb mouse isn't)
- Touchpad wasn't working without the OCHI support. Disabling "Legacy USB" from BIOS fixed this.
I wonder if there is other ppl having touble with USB2 and USB1 devices working at the same time in the AMD64...
Again thanks for your help

You did all by yourself However, both my HID graphic tablet (wacom volito) and my joypads
(Trusthmaster and Morpheus) are working fine here with T^2, and they are both USB1...... _________________ Every day a new distro comes to birth. Every day a distro "eats" another.

You did give me good hints what to do
Cinergy T2 should be USB2 device (atleast so it's in here)
I just read for a post that to get USB1 and USB2 to work you'll need to make sure that OCHI is loaded before ECHI. Otherwise the USB2 device is reconiced as USB1 device.
When I'll get home I'll try compiling OCHI in to the kernel and ECHI as module and see if that can get my mouse to work also.
I wonder if you have the OCHI somehow loaded b4 the ECHI. |
