After a fresh 2005.1 installation I used "emerge -u world", but when it merged glibc it gave this make error:
make[2]: Leaving directory `/var/tmp/portage/glibc-2.3.5-r2/work/glibc-2.3.5/sunrpc'
make[1]: *** [sunrpc/others] Error 2
make[1]: Leaving directory `/var/tmp/portage/glibc-2.3.5-r2/work/glibc-2.3.5'
make: *** [all] Error 2
And now everything I try to run gives me this error:
error while loading shared libraries: libstdc++.so.5: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
Is this file on the gentoo live cd? It's a simple K6-2 CPU in this machine so a i686 build file should be ok? And why did glibc fail to compile, wrong make settings??

Reinstall using a x86 stage file.
