On x86, I used totem as a video thumbnailer, so viewing the files in Gnome / nautilus showed an icon preview. On amd64, however, totem can't play many files ("There were no decoders found to handle the stream") -- I assume because it doesn't have win32codecs.
Is there an alternative? How do you get video thumbnails in amd64?

thumbnailer works here. You problem is probably you use gstreamer engine for totem. Use xine engine instead. |

You are absolutely right. I emerged xine after totem, so totem did not have the xine USE flag enabled. I re-emerged totem and now it happily thumbnails away. Thanks! |
