Say for instance, you liked how reiser4 performed on your one nfs server. So you put a bunch of stuff on that, then, attempted to mount that exported mountpoint from another machine running the same kernel, with the same patches on the same network etc..... Is that supposed to work? Or am I too far on the bleeding edge here?
If not, someone please tell me how to get a better error message.

NFS and reiser4 do not work well together. Hans even made a post warning people about it. So for now i would stay away from reiser4 for NFS (or the latest reiser4 patches in general). _________________ EASY TO INSTALL = Difficult to install, but instruction manual has pictures.

I used to have problems with mounting an xfs partition over NTFS. In my case the /media was xfs and / was reiser4. It didn't work with 2.6.11 but it seems to be fixed with 2.6.14. So, I no longer have any problems with reiser4 and nfs. If your problems are caused by reiser4, chances are that they get solved in future aswell. _________________ Temperatures |
