|
|
I have a laptop. At home (in dockingstation) there is a SCSI-Controller, external VGA-Adapter, external Networkcard and some other options(not used yet) available. Obviously when I am out-of-dockingstation these additional devices need to be disabled and X-Config/network needs to be switched to different hardware.
BTW. I hate it if my windooze collegues laugh at me because I don't have profiles...
Any suggestions/ideas ??? _________________ People don't have to earn my respect. I offer my respect to them, but be careful to lose my respect... |

You don't need different profiles, just build modules for all the things in your docking station that need support and load or unload them as necessary. As to network settings, emerge quickswitch may well be the answer you're looking for. |

Yes I know, I'm not that kind of newbie anymore
But it is not as comfortable as just to boot. I think I will give the 'runlevel' solution a try which is mentioned somewhere in another thread.... _________________ People don't have to earn my respect. I offer my respect to them, but be careful to lose my respect... |
