Hi,
when I try to connect to a VNC server from my Gentoo/SPARC machine, this is the result:
Quote: | $ vncviewer dfrite98:1
VNC viewer for X version 4.0 - built Sep 6 2005 11:17:38
Copyright (C) 2002-2004 RealVNC Ltd.
See http://www.realvnc.com for information on VNC.
Tue Sep 6 12:07:16 2005
CConn: connected to host dfrite98 port 5901
CConnection: Server supports RFB protocol version 3.130
CConnection: Using RFB protocol version 3.8
|
and no screen comes up. I tried the tightvnc and the vnc ebuild, but the problem is the same. This was the output of vnc. |

I was getting the same error message while trying to connect through a firewall... I used port forwarding through ssh to get around it... it may be that you are unable to route UDP packets both ways... you can edit vncserver (it's a perl script) to look at what ports it will be using (and change them as needed) |
