|
|
I just downloaded a game, Nexuiz, when I try to run it, I see two programs... nexuiz-glx and nexuiz-sdl. Which should I run for better performance? I'm using an nVidia card with the nvidia-glx driver installed... which gives me the hint I should use the nexuiz-glx program, but I'm still not sure, so I thought I should get it cleared up. |

Hi,
just use the one that works.
If in doubt, I tend to use the SDL version.
EDIT: Performance should be (nearly) the same with both versions.

I made the experience that with nexuiz-glx I get ugly distorted sound. I have the sound chip onboard in some SiS 746 chipset and use ALSA. With nexuiz-sdl the sound and everything else works fine. |

Does the glx module get loaded? Look in your xorg.conf for a line saying .
By the way: This is another problem then that what was being discuessed in this thread; so maybe you should start another thread (after carfully searching the board for a solution of course) for the sake of a clearer organisation of information in this board. |
