ciao ho un amd turion 64
volevo emergere openoffice, wireless-tools e ndiswrapper....
sono pacchetti instabili.....
volevo sapere se qualcuno li aveva installati e aveva trovato problemi...
non vorrei compromettere la stabilità del sistema...

per il resto non saprei, non ho schede wireless sul desktop di casa

Sono pacchetti softmasked, li puoi emergere tranquillamente. In realta' la lista dei pacchetti che andrai a smascherare sara' molto lunga, te lo assicuro 
Per questo, a differenza di x86 dove ci sono molti piu' pacchetti marcati come stabili, molti utenti amd64 settano direttamente in make.conf la variabile ACCEPT_KEYWORDS="~amd64"
In ogni caso, non farti problemi ad emergere pacchetti ~, davvero

Pensa che quando comprai il mio amd64 i pacchetti instabili lavoravano meglio di quelli stablili 
Ora comunque ci si sta armonizzando

è hardmasked, vuol dire che può esserci qualche problemino se lo installi...
su amd64 prova ad installare blackdown java

@ferroilpinguino: la 1.5 è hardmasked anche sotto x86 (se non erro) perchè parecchio incompatibile con il sw precedente. Oltre a questo, va benissimo, quindi se hai necesità ad usare la 1.5 per programmare, smascherala senza problemi.
Se ti serve una jre per il browser, allora metti la blackdown 1.4
