[solved]nvidia-drivers + Xorg-X11 :closing session bug?

I noticed that when I exit from X (not by brute force, just logging out user)
and then restart, a really strange issue occurs:

In my first session (the one loaded just after boot) the GPU Idle temp is 50 celt.degrees
In the second (and further) session(s) the GPU Idle temp becomes 62 celt.degrees

Temp is checked with nvidia-settings.(and superkaramba)

IMHO this thing denotes that in some way exiting session is done badly and something
is leaved behind inside the GPU (GPU isn't properly cleaned at session end).

I re-emerged any nvidia package,still the same.
Anyone else experiencing that??? (we'll fill a bug report if isn't a mine issue only...)

Have you tried using the top command? Is anything sitting there eating clock cycles?

CPU cucles: none is eating them.
GPU cycles: probably something there is, but top doesn't show (it only shows CPU cycles, not graphic card processor)

Oh, sorry. I was skim reading and misread GPU as CPU.

I don't actually hae a GPU teperature reading. I shall see if I can set one up.

Np, here are a pair of links to check your GPU temps with karamba (you may as well just use the
nvidia-settings parsing line inside them to use with your favoured monitor):

Seems that newest nvidia drivers (1.0.8756) fixed this,
for sure this update is a "must have" :D
(especially for 6800 128Mb AGP users like me)
