problems installing KDE

I am having trouble installing KDE on my IBM thinkpad 390e. I am fairly new to linux. I have messed witha few different flavors and this is my first time trying to install something like Gentoo.

Anyways, I ran the command "emerge kde". It said there were 99 packages. Everything was going fine until the "media-xloadimage-4.1-r3 package. Package 39. It fails. It comes back with:


build.c:2: error: syntax error before "Laptop"
make: *** [xloadimage] Error 1
make: *** Waiting for unfinished jobs....

!!! ERROR: media-gfx/xloadimage-4.1-r3 failed.

I loaded xorg ok. Not to sure what to do with it, Im kinda learning on my own, but it seemed ok. I went with KDE next and here I am.
I dont know what other information I should post, but if anyone could be of any assistance that would be great.

Could you please post at least 20 lines before the error you posted to help provide an indication of what went wrong. Also post the output of 'emerge --info'
