I'm glad it worked
I had the same problem when xorg 6.9* was first masked in portage. It was a nightmare until nxsty told me the right combo... and then it changed again, taking me again a lot of trial/error until I hit the new working pair. |

Yay! Seems like the libX11 part of the compose cache patches where merged today in xorg. Perhaps someone with a little knowledge of git can do a diff when it's done? |

In the commit it says "Part 1:"... is he done with the compose cache patches or is it just in the beginnings? |

I thought there would be some server changes too but actually it seems like there are only libX11 changes when looking at the patch. So I guess the merge is complete allready. Though the bug report is still open. Perhaps it's just the mkcomposecache app that's missing? |

Portage version is now 6.9.0-r2. Will your ebuild be sync'ed anytime soon?
I'd like to continue using your wonderful overlay
Thanks in advance for your efforts. |

My main system is not working, I'm still waiting for my new graphic card, so I can't update it atm. But the revbump is mainly because a security fix so it should be trivial to add yourself, probably just a epatch line.
Btw, libX11 1.0.2 is out now with the compose cache patch included. I didn't think it would be in a stable release so fast. I guess this thread is a bit obosolete now as everybody should migrate to modular x. |
