NForce2 sound needed with AC3

Hi! I'm a happy owner of an asus a7n8x board. The installation was painless, but I've got stuck at $SUBJECT. I'm using an oldy (but real smart) Cambridge SoundWorks DTT2500 Digital set, and seems I'm unable to get ac3 passthrough working... I've got to 'work' both alsa (praised much here in the forums), kernel oss of 2.4.20 and commercial oss, compiling 2.4.21-ac7 in the background right now, but regardless of the actual driver and mixer settings, sound seem to play, but is muted on the SPDIF output. (i have no analog connection atm so cant make sure whether it was working ok anyway)

So what do you guys use for getting SPDIF output from an nforce2 mobo?
