| Since the Gentoo uses for Sparc the vanilla sources, which include no special patches, does anyone have any recommendations for patches to apply? System is an Ultra IIi-based headless server. |

I've been using sys-kernel/sparc-sources-2.4.20-r8 which seems to be
fine for me. It's similar to the gentoo-sources kernel, but tuned/working
for sparc architecture.

Hmm. So can I just 'emerge sparc-sources-2.4.20-r8' then? |

rocket: yes you can emerge sparc-sources, then point /usr/src/linux -> /usr/src/sparc-sources* and so on...
| Code: | | emerge sparc-sources |
