|

Hi!
Is there any chance to get ADSL working after booting from the LiveCD?
It would be ... uhm ... very useful to have an internet connection
I played a little bit around with pppoed but always failed, because the device /dev/pppox0 does not exist. Even a mknod did not help.
Another way to get into the net would be IP-over-FireWire. But this doesn't work for me either (Gentoo Linux -> iBook with OS X -> Provider)
Any suggestions?
Yours,

You need the client not the daemon.
(See if RP-PPPoE is in the portage, it maybe, if not compile from the above link) _________________ PowerBook G3, 400 Mhz, 192 megs of Ram Running Gentoo 1.4 and XFCE4 |

because I want to install from scratch and in case the rp-pppoe client is not on the LiveCD I cannot connect to the internet in order to download the rp-pppoe client =)
I guess I have to go shopping and get a DSL-router with NAT. Nevertheless it would be very useful to have ADSL support on the LiveCD.
As far as I know there is support on the x86 LiveCD because there is a script called adsl-setup. Unfortunately I found no such script on the ppc LiveCD |
