Actually, I can compile and run Ardour 0.99.2 from portage without any problems now . This is on a newer x86 box than I was using before. Are you still having problems with v0.99.2?

I have tried emerging Ardour 0.99.3 and 0.99.2 on a backup installation of Gentoo on the same machine, which has a slightly different configuration and different versions (slightly older) of everything and I got the same problem. |
Hmmm . I installed v0.99.3 last night with no problems. What version of scons do you have installed? What version of jack-audio-connection-kit?

I don't know what to make of it. I have Ardour 0.9_beta29 installed from back in May, but I keep getting this wierd scons stuff when I try to emerge beta30 or 0.99. I'm stumped. I wonder if anyone can emerge ardour these days?

I'd imagine this is sandbox doing some magic (better than something evil hosing your root ). Try USE="-sandbox" emerge ardour |
