Hi Folks,
I have managed to build one working Apple PowerBook G3 (Wallstreet) 233MHz with 256Mb RAM and a 4Gb hard disk using two broken ones . I know its not the fastest of machines, but I am sure I can find some use for it so I was thinking of putting Gentoo on it.
One thing I really need working is wireless networking. The Wallstreet doesn't come with any sort of built in wireless networking, but it does come with two PC card slots. I have a spare 16-bit Agere ORiNOCO Gold card, and I was wondering if I would have to do much to get this working under Gentoo Linux on PowerPC
Has anyone ever tried anything like this? Does anyone know if it will work?
Thanks,
Andrew McCall |

Will this work with the stock gentoo kernel, or will I have to do some kernel-voodoo magic (which invariably means I break my installation ) to get it working? |

I'm not sure what you mean by "kernel voodoo magic", but unless that means simply enabling the driver in the kernel, you don't need to do anything else. _________________ Gentoo PPC FAQ: http://www.gentoo.org/doc/en/gentoo-ppc-faq.xml |
