how do I load programs automatically at startup of X (ie gkrellm2)

im using fluxbox

i know its a simple question - but....me = ???

Are you using xdm, gdm, or anything? Or are u logging in at the console and typing startx.

You can add commands to the .xinitrc file in your home directory. Just make sure you put the commands before the 'exec fluxbox' line.

Okay, what if I want it to start when I'm using GDM? Could it be different with each WM, or is that asking too much? Also, if I want it to load environment values when I log in, such as

Code:
__GL_FSAA_MODE=1

what do I do? Sorry if I'm asking in the wrong thread.
