According to the WineHQ AppDB, the Steam version of Mass Effect 2 is "Platinum" meaning it installs and runs flawlessly. WineHQ - Mass Effect 2 Steam
Now since the game is 32-bit, the question is are you running Gentoo 64-bit [multilib] or pure 32-bit? IF and ONLY IF 64-bit [multilib] try emerging the emul-linux-x86 packages and see if that works. If you chose a 64-bit only install [non-multilib] you're SOL. _________________ Linux. Freedom. Power. |

Didn't try it for a while but with wine 1.1.x series, it works flawlessly out of the box with gentoo on a 32bits system.
Perhaps you should try it with wine 1.2.x series. |
