|
|
Recently installed Firefox 1.0.7 on a new, work-issued notebook from work. I'm trying to get some extensions installed, but the Mozilla Update is a total waste of time. I try to browse any of the extension categories on the left, and my browser just spins away without connecting. I got a few extensions installed earlier in the week through perseverance, but this is really aggravating.
Anyone having the same problem? Know why the site is using SSL? If anyone at Mozilla would care to look into this or fix it? |

Known problem; I've reported it multiple times, but no one has done a single thing about it... |

Just talked to them again; they're working on a patch to reduce database server load (you know, 70 million plus requests isn't something to laugh at) so it may or may not be improved soon. |

Cool. Just seemed to be too important of a site to leave in such an unusable state. 70 million requests? I probably accounted for half of those this week alone. |

A much better site for getting Firefox (and Thunderbird) extensions is extensionsmirror.nl. You could use this list. _________________ "Those who deny freedom to others deserve it not for themselves." - Abraham Lincoln
