If I inject or manually add to /var/cache/edb/world the record "=net-www/mozilla-1.3.0" I assume it will keep me from downgrading my mozilla at every "emerge -u world".
However, what will happen after mozilla will go over 1.3.0? Will Portage automatically discover it and offer me to upgrade or I'll live with then outdate mozilla untill I'll remember it and remove that recdrd? I guess the answer is that I have to remember it.
In order to prevent such kind of problems I suggest to improve the format of world-file. The correct record for the situation above should be:
Code: | >=net-www/mozilla-1.3.0 |
Same syntax as in ebuild files and in profile/packages.mask
What do you think? |
