I've noticed that gentoo defaults to install qt version 3.0.4, but if I try to install PyQt, I only found version 3.1 for qt 3.0.2, which doesn't compile correctly when emerged. It would be nice to have PyQt aligned with the installed version of the Qt library. |

Yes it does appear that sip and PyQt are very tightly coupled by version number. I have submitted bug trackers for new ebuilds for sip-3.2.4 and PyQt-3.2.4 (bugs.gentoo.org #3398 and #3399).
I've never submitted ebuilds before so hopefully I did things properly. I just modified the existing ones and tested them out. They seemed to work on my system and satisfied the dependencies for [anygui] which is what I've been wanting to work with all along anyway. _________________ Down with categorical imperative! |
