(Repeat) Error chrooting

I'm in the install phase and I got to the point where I need to chroot into the new enviroment and I get the error "chroot: cannot run command '/bin/bash': Exec format error" I don't know what this means, but it might make sense to you. Any help will be much appreciated.

You have included very few details, but my crystal ball says you are booting with a 32bit kernel, and then trying to install Gentoo with a 64bit stage tarball.

This will not work. You need to boot with a 64bit kernel in order to install with a 64bit stage tarball.

I never knew crystal balls actually worked. Sure enough I had my brother's 32-bit livecd instead of my 64-bit livecd. Sorry for troubling you and thanks for the timely response.
