Hello!

I just installed Linux for a friend. Dual Opteron system, 64 bit. I've never done 64 bit before (if it matters).

When he boots, it gets to the "remounting root filesystem as read only", errors on that (!!) instead of (OK). Same on the Remounting as read-write.

IT can either do "maitinance mode" or boot in. Either way, / is read only.

/dev/hda = windows drive
/dev/hdb1 = 100mb ext3 boot
/dev/hdb2 = 900mb swap
/dev/hdb3 = 39000 mb reiserfs /
/dev/hdb4 = unformated, ntfs someday for windows stuff.

WHen i first installed, i typo'd the /etc/fstab to "reiser" instead of "reiserfs" - i booted the livecd and fixed that now though.

Any clue why his hard drive won't mount read-write?

I can mount it if booted from the livecd no problem.
