hello all,
i am looking for a bootable utilty that can resize an ext3 partition.or i need a utilty that can resize an active ext3 partition.any help here would be great thanxs.

Acronis Disk Director can do that, but it's commercial :/

are those bootable,as the whole drive is used and i only have linux installed i need to get a program that can resize an active ext3 partition or it would have to be bootable as to not set the partition active.and as i said i dont have windows installed.

See this page for 'install instructions - and yes, it is a bootable image, and does not have to be 'installed' per se.

See this page for the program's capabilities regarding *nix partition management.

i would just use knoppix.

there is a tool called "qparted" which can resize partitions

i use qtparted but in gentoo,knoppix is a flav0r of linux right so it be bootable right?
