Im having problems with my cdrom, I installe off the live-1.4rc1 cd no problems. Built a kernel installed gnome and everything works great, except when I try and mount a cdrom it lock the system up :-S
I just dont understand it I can still boot off the live cd no problem and Ive tried various cds, I rebuilt my kernel but no joy, has anyone got any ideas I really want to play Q3 linux!!!!

After it crashes (and you reboot), check your log files. Where they are depends on your logger. I use metalog, and the messages end up in /var/log/kernel/ Take a look at the 'current' file, and maybe the others, and see if anything suspicious shows up.

Nothing is reported it just freezes the whole system as soon as mount is run :'(
