Very small fonts in KDE

Post by Dush4n » Thu Sep 01, 2005 12:44 pm

Hi , I've got the next problem:
In KDE fonts are too small, almost unreadable. From Control Center i looked, and the font size are the same as in Gnome, but are way too smaller . I searched on google for solution to this problem and i found that this have to do with dpi settings (apperantly dpi are set to 75 and it should be 96 like in Gnome) , but i dont know how to change dpi settings in KDE on Gentoo. Does anyone can help?

create a file in your home directory named .Xdefaults (if you dont already have it) and put this line in it:
Xft.dpi:96

then restart xorg.

Was it just the firefox/thunderbird fonts that were small to begin with? If thats the case you may want to just adjust those and leave the system at default. I had a variation of that issue in this recent post:

http://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic-t-498742.html and the fix was good.
