I was able to compiled successfully ipw2200 driver in nitro5, but I have been struggling to get encyption to work. I use wpa_supplicant which works like charm in AP with no encryption, but doesn't work in on with. It just refuse to associate any wap AP. I thought it was a wap_supplicant problem, but then I booted to 2.6.11-nitro1, and it just worked. I pratically used the same .config file as nitro1 for nitro5. With nitro1 I emerged ipw2200, but appearantly the portage ipw2200 have compilation error with nitro5.
Does anyone has similar problem? Did I miss compiling something in the kernel?

I have the same problem, except that I am trying to connect to a WEP network. I have been able to connect to an open network with ease.
I have posted a similar problem here: hopefully somebody gets back at me or you at least...
